Title: All's Well that Ends Well
"Hah-HAR-EH-SHooo! HEH-EH-CHHooo! HEH-CHHuuu!" Dee sniffled and wiped his nose with the back of his hand as he sat down on his bed and pulled off his wet, muddy socks and pants. Standing outside in an abandoned lot in the freezing rain and slush with a megaphone for three or four hours trying to convince a teenage boy not to jump off the building near by was cold, hard work. "HAR-EH-CHHoo! HAH-EH-SHHuuu! EH-SHooo!" He put his hand to his head, feeling miserable. Ryo came in, smiling softly, "all's well that ends well, Dee. At least he didn't jump." He kissed Dee's cheek and handed him a cup of soup, "it's too bad you got sick though. What can I do for you?" Dee took the soup and nodded his thanks, "well, you could snuggle with me and maybe do a little bit more later, when I'm feeling better." He eyed Ryo in a suggestive way. He was already stripped to his boxers, or else he would have done so at that moment. Ryo, knowing that as the cold progressed Dee wasn't going to want sex, or even heavy making out, just nodded, "we'll see how you feel Sweetheart. Now, get into bed before you freeze." Dee nodded, "HAR-HA-SHhhuuuu! HEH-Eh-CHHuuu! WAH- EHCCHHHooo! Damn it all, Ryo. Why do I let things like this happen to me? It's dead of winter, the weather is nasty and that crazy kid wanted to kill himself. He could end up getting his wish by catching pneumonia. HEH-SSHHuu! Heh-EH-CHHHuuu! EH-CHHuuu!" He sniffled and blew his nose on the tissues that Ryo had brought him. Ryo sat down beside Dee and took his hand in both of his, "Dee, your hands are like ice! Why didn't you tell me you were still cold?" Ryo's dark eyes were full of a concern so deep that Dee didn't know it was even possible to be that worried over someone. "I'm fine, Baby. It's just a little head-cold, that's all." He smiled over at his lover, trying to seem less ill than he was and knowing at the same time that Ryo could see right through him. Ryo shook his head and stood back up, "no Dee, you're not fine. I'm going to go draw you a hot bath and then make you some more soup. You can't tell me you didn't enjoy that." He motioned to the empty cup. Dee smiled, "no, I can't. You're a wonderful cook Ryo, and you know it, so stop fishing for any more compliments." Ryo laughed and went into the bathroom, wincing as he heard Dee coughing in a very congested way. He looked out the window and saw the sky still grey and overcast, spiting out flakes and rain at the same time, "he has more persistence than I do." Dee wrapped his arms around Ryo's waist, "no I don't. I know for a fact that you would have stood out there for as long as it took to get that kid down too." He turned his partner around and looked into the eyes that had first caught his attention, "you need to give yourself more credit." He kissed Ryo's lips very passionately, running his fingers through the soft chestnut brown hair. He pulled away, blushing, "I'm sorry, I would hate to give you my cold." Ryo shook his head, "there's nothing to be sorry for, Dee. I would have done it if you hadn't." He kissed the slightly taller man gently before going about pouring some strong smelling oil in the bath, "there. It'll clear you sinuses. Ah-Chhtt! Sorry, it's a little too powerful for me when I'm not sick." Dee acted disappointed, "so does this mean you won't be joining me?" Ryo nodded, rubbing his tickly nose, "yes, I afraid so. I need to fix dinner anyway. Ah-Cht-uu!" Dee climbed into the bath, laughing to himself quietly. When he had finished he came out of the room. He'd washed himself off very carefully, so as not to make Ryo sneeze again and hugged Ryo around the shoulders, "how's everything going?" Ryo looked up and smiled, "everything's fine. I finished dinner and now I'm going to put you back to bed." Dee smiled, "that might be nice. Hang on." He held up a finger and bought both hands to his face, "HAH-EH-SHHooo! EH-SHHuu! HAR-EH-CHHHuu!" Dee groped for a tissue or something to blow his nose on. Ryo saw the problem and handed him a box, "there you go Dee. You know, I think it's so cute the way you always sneeze in threes." Ryo's cheeks looked a bit red, as though he'd commented on something of Dee's that was a lot more personal than a sneeze. Dee laughed, "I see. May I ask why?" Ryo shrugged, "I don't know. It's just cute." He blushed deeper and changed the subject quickly, "come on, you need to get into bed and eat your soup. Then I want you to go to sleep, got it?" Dee nodded, "will you come to bed with me Ryo?" He rubbed Ryo's shoulders and kissed the side of his neck, where he knew Ryo was ticklish. Ryo cringed and swatted at Dee gently, "not now Dee. Your soup will get cold." "Let it," Dee purred, nuzzling him more, "I'm not hungry anyway. Not for food, that is. I have what I want right here. You're much sweeter than the last time I was sick, you know." Ryo grinned in spite of himself, "I didn't happen to love you back then, at least, not that I could admit to myself. Now, I have no problem admitting anything." He turned and kissed Dee back, rubbing Dee's broad shoulders firmly. Dee smiled, but the smile faded away as he turned his head from Ryo, "HAR-CHHooo! EH-SHHuuu! HEH-EH-SHHuuu! Maybe we'd better not do anything Ryo. I really don't want you to get sick." Ryo shook his head, "let me worry about that, Dee, because right now, I'm not. I wouldn't care if I did. Besides," he smiled sweetly, "you'd just have to take care of me, that's all." Dee laughed, "you know, it always seems to end up like that." He wrapped his arm around Ryo's waist, pulling him closely to his side and led the way into the bedroom. | |||||
